Hometown Photos
Georgetown, Louisiana, located in the north-central part of the state, has never been a big place. Way back when, it featured four grocery stores, a store that sold dry goods and appliances, plus a garage, a washateria, and a couple oil field related businesses. Today, there's one grocery store and a beauty shop. The town still has a high school (Bulldogs), post office, Masonic Lodge, and several churches. About 300 people continue to call it home.

The original homestead. This house was built by my
grandfather who was the local carpenter. It's about
75 years old and in much better shape than me.

We had a bake sale for the Beta Club in front of this building. ANd don't forget about "Bettie's Beauty Shop"! I've had many a haircut there!
Oh we also NOW HAVE A NEW TOWN HALL, A new Baptist Church going up , A new clothing store beside Beavers Auto Sales called "The Honey Hole". A Cafe under the overpass, New walking Trail n Play ground. N a few more lil odds n ends round there, Gtown may not be a big town to some but we are quite PRIDE OF OUR LITTLE TOWN N THE PEOPLE LIVING INSIDE CITY LIMITS N OUTSIDE THE LIMITS. A GREAT PLACE TO CALL HOME.I am one of Bud n Ann Nugents daughter he was sherriff there many years before his passing.
